MemberBeing incorporated doesn’t really protect us as players does it?
What other benefits are you expecting there to be?Advantages I can think of are:
[list:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]More likely to acquire funding from charitable sources such as “Caversham Trust” or “Pub Charities”.[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]No transactions fees for bank accounts[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]Team members/organisers not legally liable for any debt the club creates – I think.[/*:m:8axl6rrj][/list:u:8axl6rrj]Disadvantages I can think of are:
[list:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]It may annoy the DIHA as the team would be taking funding from them[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]It may annoy the DIHL for same reason as it would the DIHA[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]It costs $100[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]To justify the cost we’d need to actually apply to funding agencies etc.[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]The team is stuck with continous paper work and will need to have AGMs, meetings, appointed officials etc.[/*:m:8axl6rrj]
[*:8axl6rrj]Typically to apply for funding you attach letters of support from affiliate clubs (ie: DIHA, SIHL etc.) but if we don’t have the support of these organisations then that won’t be possible. The DIHL could provide a letter of support although Kyle tends to be fairly politically correct on these things and would likely want to run it by the DIHA first, plus he’s intending to step down from running the DIHL shortly.[/*:m:8axl6rrj][/list:u:8axl6rrj]I discussed incorporation to Mark back when he was first talking about forming a team, but never recommended it due to all the hassle and the potential to upset the DIHA.
Despite the rather long disadvantages list I’m not against the concept at all. Just so long as the team is dedicated to making use of the $100 it costs. Besides, I’m always keen to see someone give a central finger to the DIHA <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="

Once I get the tick from a few of you that the new look is okay I’ll switch the software over and we can be in SMF bliss <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="

Okay, I got infuriated at the previous theme as it was coded by a moron and was making my life hell trying to re-skin it to gel with out general website theme.
So …. there’s now a new theme in it’s place which was coded by someone who is slightly less of a moron. It’s a little ‘big’ at the top, lots of space taken up by some thing which looks like a piece of paper. But hopefully it’ll do.
This ‘should’ (fingers crossed) be in fully working order so feel free to bug-pick to your hearts content and depending on how much time I can be bothered devoting to it, I may or may not fix them <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt="

MemberI’m reached the limit of what I’m willing to burn. Burning these bastards is taking a lot longer than I thought.
So the rest of you will need to get a copy off those who have booked in already.
I could upload the ISOs to the web, but I’m not sure how many of you will actually download them/burn them, might be easier to just hand the disks over. Let me know if you think otherwise.

I spent about 10 mins trying to find it in my emails. It was hidden in the middle of one about an SIHL meeting which I ignored.

MemberI suspect he just thought it was a Beasts player.
‘Out the back of the rink’ is usually where the kids go to smoke weed coz there’s no parents around to get them in trouble. It’s not somewhere I would have expected a grown adult to go, we do have such places as houses/flats and all. Unless of course someone was smoking up inside the building which would be just plain stupid.

MemberIt now has it’s own gallery, which so far looks to be a bit better than the current crap arse one we have at the moment.

MemberThere’s obviously still a few bugs.
I haven’t decided where to put the copyright thing hence the error. It’s quite annoying in that it adds a bunch of tags, not just plain text which makes it hard to position on the page <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt="
” title=”Sad” />
I don’t like the look of the theme as much as the one on this forum. But hopefully it’ll do till I re-theme the whole darn site eventually. If I stay crook for long enough I may be able to re-theme it to look identical to the current forum but I doubt I’ll have that much patience – theming is a pain in the ass.
The calendar isn’t as great as I thought as it doesn’t allow linking to anything but forum topics/posts <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt="

MemberI just discovered a useful function in SMF. It has a calendar function <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="
” title=”Smiley” /> The events are linked directly to posts in the forum.

Member"Kyle":p843ph0r wrote:I presume $250 includes your SIHL beasts games.[/quote:p843ph0r]Not that I’m aware of. I think this is the cost to attend SNC practice from now on. A bizarre email has been circulating round saying that we need to pay at least $100 within four days for our practices. The email didn’t make much sense to me though and I’m not sure where it came from.

MemberYeah, there’s been some weird emails going around about ice time lately. I’m not even sure where these decisions are coming from as I’m on the committee and haven’t heard a thing apart from via my team manager and even he didn’t seem to know what was going on or make any sense of it!?

I hadn’t thought about the load the floor could carry actually.

MemberI might need to be removed from that list for the weekend as I’m not feeling too good at all. 39 degrees and feel like a big pile of dog turd <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt="

I’ll keep everyone informed as the week progresses, will depend how long it takes for me to shake this cold off.

Member"Kyle":2n4vv616 wrote:Any idea what the story will be when it’s done about having access to it? And, will there be a cost?[/quote:2n4vv616]There’ll be a key at the rink which will be available to certain members of our club. Obvious candidates being coaches, managers etc. I had a chat with Neil the other week about the cost and after a brief discussion about how much he’d make out of it, he decided to charge us the grand some of zip, zero, nothing <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="
” title=”Smiley” /> So we can use it as much as we want for free <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="
” title=”Smiley” />
"Kyle":2n4vv616 wrote:Well, probably slim to none, as while hypothetically someone could raise the money, there’s nowhere left in the building left to lay ice. Unless someone wants to run all the curlers out of town, but I can’t imagine that Neil would look on that too kindly.[/quote:2n4vv616]Untrue, there’s also the other side of the cooling tower which is (I think) exactly the same size as the end we’re using for the existing gallery. Plus there’s the bowls hall upstairs at the front of the building <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="
” title=”Smiley” /> I don’t see either of those options coming to fruition any time soon though <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt="
