Either that or wear skate guards and only practice shooting and puck handling from a stand still.

But if I ditched my hobby there’d be no site for guest to post on and then we’d have no guest to talk about!? And then I’d have to do something crazy like interact with people in person and that’s just insane!

I’ll bring both the socks and the jersey to inline hockey tonight in case either of you are there.

Bode stopped by before and said it’s apparently almost done <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> Just needs a netting ceiling and some other minor stuff <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

I’m most looking forward to using it for puck handling drills actually. Some nice smooth indoor concrete will do nicely for that thank you <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

No but I’ll burn it to CD and you can pass it round each other/copy it if you want.

    You’re close, apart from the bit about being you <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt=":P” title=”Tongue” />

Simple solution to the goal judges problem is to just do what we did in the DIHL previously. Made it compulsory for teams to front with goal judges, if they don’t they’re penalised. I can’t imagine teams wouldn’t bothered arranging goal judges if they lost points for it. That’s basically how the South Island Region Inline Hockey League worked and there was rarely any goal judges missing.

This didn’t work previously because the referees never bothered reporting the lack of goal judges and I didn’t care enough to bother. I always figured if the referees were happy then that would do. But if the referees/scorekeepers were requested by the league to report on teams failing to front with goal judges the problem would be solved – I think.

Personally I couldn’t less if we have goal judges or not anyway, I’m happy to accept the occasional screw up by the referees/lines people as long as they’re not biased. But I guess others are more ansy about this stuff.

Well I still find it funny. I guess jokes take a while to get old for me <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> I hadn’t thought of logging in via an IP changer thingymabob but that would make sense.

I suspect he’s too used to dealing with teams which don’t bother communicating at all – most other DIHA teams. So it didn’t occur to him to do anything obvious like talk to the other team!? I only heard this through the grapevine though so could be wide of the mark.

His email address incase you don’t have it is: [email:1w07b7r4]steve.jackson@otago.ac.nz[/email:1w07b7r4]

I [b:1w07b7r4]think[/b:1w07b7r4] Steve is now the pseudo team manager for them. Although Kyle was originally doing all the work and Graham Phipps-Black was the actual team manager and then Kyle realised that Steve was doing exactly the same job as him and that Steve didn’t know that Graham was in fact the official team manager!?!?!? …. and people still ask me why I chose to play for the Beasts instead of the Ducks???

I’m not actually on the Bullfrogs team, I’m just playing as a casual player at the moment and probably wont be there next week.

I’ll be at powerskating, intermediate practice and the SIHL SNC games on this Sunday plus a game at 7:30pm against the Juniors on Saturday night.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the rink would not want to cancel all scheduled events for one day or more?  It’s a tough logistical task running the marathon events.  Getting the rink to staff the place overnight can be tough too.  I’m good for 8 hours of ice time though minimum[/quote:yid8ro1e]

If it was run in the summer then ice time should be obtainable.

I’m not sure how much time you’ve spent playing here in Dunedin, but the rink here operates quite differently to the one in Christchurch, they’re not as anal about having a whole fleet of staff on or anything. Plus there’s a few hockey players who would count as staff anyway and could groom etc. for us.

But yeah, that stuff could be a stumbling block.

Welcome to the forum chchicechick <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> What team/league do you play for in Christchurch – am assuming you do.

Sounds like this is a really popular idea, volunteers to organise it? Ryan Wick? Shouldn’t actually take too much organising to get the game going. The bulk of the work would probably involved marketing and so forth. I think the club as a whole would probably launch into the concept pretty well though.

Oh yeah, and bags not wear a jersey which has been worn for 23 hours straight! Poo, icky!

Well this is fascinating. Guests most recent IP address is in Canada! He’s obviously going to great lenghts to throw us off the trail by getting a friend back home to post for him, quite clever though.

[b:1lta9cju]ALL[/b:1lta9cju] of the stats for both A and B-grades are supposed to be in this document:

    http://www.dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/documents/dihlstatsautumn07.pdf%5B/url:1lta9cju%5D

But I haven’t been sent any for the A-grade or recent B-grade rounds unless I’ve forgotten to add the last batch – Aaron could you confirm?
