Jane replied, and yep, you can all play <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

Um, forgot to ask for a max players number, but have texted her back saying I’m announcing a 10 player limit for the team plus goalie and if she doesn’t like that to let me know – I don’t think she’ll care though.

Will have to pass on that sorry Callum. Need to get home for my beauty sleep <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

I’ll text Jane and find out if you guys can play or not. I’m assuming it’ll be fine though.

Can I point you to our earlier discussion where I said heaps of the Johnnies kids are boarders, and they go home during the holidays? With a full cup of ‘I told you so’?[/quote:3r8j12pn]

Oh yeah, I take it back then.

I’m definitely surprised that they couldn’t front with at least 5 players plus a goalie though.

If Callan for some reason decides not to play, you should borrow the pair I gave him. Or you could buy some from SK8 while yer up there <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> They have a pretty decent selection up there (or at least they used to) so it would be a good time/place to buy them anyway.

I’m assuming this wont throw a spanner in any transport organisation? I just realised I’d forgotten to check if that would be an issue, ie: people wanting to leave ChCh before 12 etc. Hopefully it wont be coz I REALLY want to play inline hockey again, I haven’t played a proper game in over two years!

[color=#aaa:3k9k72li][i:3k9k72li]Firstly, Calm down Chris. The world won’t end if we all have to go up separately, it’ll just cost a few bucks more. Some things in life aren’t worth rupturing that hernia over – can you rupture a hernia? Infact, I’m not even sure what a hernia is, I may need to Wikipedia it. I think it has something to do with the stomach, my great auntie Vera has one, it causes her lots of problems.[/i:3k9k72li][/color:3k9k72li]

    [b:3k9k72li]Inline Hockey <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />[/b:3k9k72li]
Looks like everyone is happy with some of us cruising off on Sunday morning to go play some inline hockey with the Redbacks, so make sure you bring your wheels <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> Jane and I watched a DVD of their last game in Nelson and they are pretty decent. And considering I’m the only one on our team who has played before (AFAIK) we’re going to get totally thumped! So we’ll have to sort out teams when we get there, borrow some of their players etc. They’re cool with whatever is sorted, they just want to play. Would be good if everyone could bring a light/dark uniform in case they can’t provide us with them.

It starts at either 10am or 11am so I’d better sort out the exact time, should be done by 11am or 12noon I think. It’s somewhere way out near Brighton, I’ll get hold of some exact directions at some stage for us.

    So far we’ve got:
    1  Jason Sedgwick
    2  Ryan Hellyer
    3  Jane Soper
    4  Andy Noble
    5  Callan McLaughlin
    6  Chris Laing

If anyone else who wants to play just turn up with a pair of inline hockey skates <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

    Ryan,

PS: And just in case someone is stupid enough to do this, don’t go putting your nice fancy new inline hockey skates into a wet hockey bag (particularly Callan). Your bearings will likely seize up due to the dampness – common mistake by ice hockey players <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt=":P” title=”Tongue” />

PSS: What time are we leaving Christchurch on Sunday?

    Jets vs John McGlashan College[/b]
A very lopsided comination this one. Considering the score lines for the past two games this isn’t looking promising for the Johnnies team. My pick, 8-0 to the Jets. Sedgewick to get three, DIHL organiser Soper, McLaughlin, Sharpin, Reymond and Noble to sink one apiece.[/quote:usydpyq0]

Can that, looks like the John McGlashan team aren’t fronting up due to the school holidays. Which makes no sense to me since they have the biggest team in the league.

Anywhos, Jets will now get a thumping from an A-grade stacked lineup. Dudley to get pounded in goal. Either that or the A-graders wont be allowed to play – but I don’t think that’s the case (awaiting confirmation). My pick, 8-2, Sedgwick to pick up a few goals for the Jets coz the replacement teams goalie will probably suck. King and Wick to sink most of the replacements goals in the net.

    Count me in too! – you forgot to add me Jane  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/angry.gif" alt=":(” title=”>:(” class=”bbcode_smiley” />” title=”Angry” />

Is there a cap on the number of players? Could get messy if 20 odd people put their name down here and turn up tomorrow night expecting a game.

And how much will it cost us?

But is there an option to play out? coz i will play forward of a-graders are allowed to play?![/quote:2p1ohkc9]

I assumed A-graders would be allowed to play out in this game since it doesn’t count for anything. I texted Stefan before to point him this way to sign up. Or perhaps I shouldn’t have if that’s not the case.

You mean tomorrow night. And Olivia’s team has two goalies, her and Neil Dudley.

Don’t know about any other teams, but Bears are definitely sorted for a goalie.

Mark is on to it. Talked to him about it before and it’ll all be sorted. No idea who, what or when whom is leaving, but I think everyone will probably be happy’ish.

We probably need some sort of decision about what’s happening next time though, as there seems to have been some mix-ups this time with a lot of people not realising what Chris is doing.

I can’t remember when Rob is scheduled to leave, but I’m assuming I’ll be chugging up behind Chris who is leaving around 1pm I think.

I’d suggest people don’t go to practice if they don’t have spare gear to use. Your equipment’s going to be pretty nasty by Friday night if it isn’t aired for that long.

They haven’t been cancelled. I assume James will continue coaching the session.

Although the club does have a long track record of not telling us till the last minute (or not at all) that these things have been cancelled, so who knows. Joyce told me yesterday that it hadn’t been cancelled as yet though but that she’ll get back to me with more information about what’s going on.
