"Kyle":oyev95h5 wrote:Oh FFS Ryan. Why can’t we upload .xls files?[/quote:oyev95h5]Probably because you can embed nasty stuff inside them. I’ll go see if that can be changed easily though as it would be a handy feature to have.
Ryan HellyerMemberMy signature bothers you that much? If so, I will think of a new one to keep your eyes happy.
Ryan HellyerMemberNothing has changed on the home page apart from the content.
What browser/operating system are you using? It sounds like you’ve set your font size too low. Some browsers do this on a per page basis, so if you’ve accidentally decreased it for the home page, that would explain your problem.

And you forgot the ° symbol, it should be 100°C or 273.14K.
Ryan HellyerMemberThe following news items should clear everything up:

https://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/midgets-practice-back-on/If there’s no Juniors grade, the only option they have is to play in the seniors grade, either SNC or contact/Premier (or whatever it is called).

Am I supposed to have paid this already?[/quote:b4ws2oqu]According to one of the above news posts, you need to pay in March. I don’t have any more information than that.
Ryan HellyerMemberVPatrol – try coaching@dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi
That forwards directly to Larry Wheeler’s address. It is possible that the address that it forwarded to originally was an old address, so I’ve updated it to the last address Larry used when he emailed me today. I assume the original address still works, but just in case, I’ve changed it until I hear back from Larry.
Good luck getting hold of him <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="” title=”Smiley” /> I’m sure your coaching skills will be much appreciated.

As far as lack of information goes, I try to post everything I receive from various sources on here as soon as possible. I often don’t receive information (although that situation is improving), so if anyone out there notices that major/minor pieces of information are missing on the site, then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment here on the forum or to email me at webadmin@dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi.

[/quote:kua9efjz]Not really. Neil is like that.
He told me off a while back because he found an advertisement for SK8 on the site (or more likely someone showed him it). He seemed quite disgruntled when I pointed out that I thought they were beneficial to the rink and started listing reasons why he should be supporting them, not trying to shut them down. He seemed even more disgruntled when I told him his shop was useless and that I and most others warn people not to bother shopping at the rink because of the lack of service/good prices. He didn’t get angry as such, but certainly didn’t appreciate my expressing my views on the matter. He was happy when I said I’d happily take the advertisement down.
Ryan HellyerMemberI have a fuzzy memory of reading an email which said that midgets is for under 17 now and bantams for under 15. I could be wrong though.
Ryan HellyerMemberStephen Christos replied to me this evening and requested that the topic be moved from public view.
Hopefully the time it’s been posted for has been enough to alert the masses over the debacle.
Ryan HellyerMemberLol, there will be lots of confused midgets.
… adding news item now …
Ryan HellyerMember[b:2t9ukphp]Some tips on inserting a blade into your shaft:[/b:2t9ukphp]
It seems like a simple concept, but I’ve seen quite a few people break their sticks purely because they didn’t do it right.Don’t do what some morons do and touch the stick to the element (yes some people really are that stupid). It overheats the carbon until it becomes brittle and breaks.
Some people heat the shaft as well as the blade, but you should be able to insert it fine after only heating the goo on the blade. Hold the blade as close to the element as possible and wait till the goo starts to bubble a little.
When you put the blade in, make sure you don’t twist it at an angle. Put the butt end on the ground, grab the hosel of the blade (not the blade itself) and push it directly downwards, that way you won’t twist it as it goes in. If you push it at an angle you risk breaking the shaft.
If the blade is loose in the shaft, don’t use it! Pull the blade out, wrap some tape around the bit that goes into the shaft, re goo it, heat it and repeat the process. It should be nice and tight and have no movement. If there is movement, the blade will break.
Another option is to use a camp stove/bunsen burner. They’re nice and quick, but make sure you don’t overheat it. My friend Kate borrowed the bunsen burner in my lab to replace her blade one day. She decided she wanted her shaft nice and hot as well as the blade and held the bunsen up to the shaft for a couple of minutes. Apparently carbon fibre does burn! She also set fire to her blade which was quite amusing <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt="” title=”Tongue” /> Then the shaft split as the blade went in. The bunsen approach does work very well if you are careful though.
If you don’t want to use your own stove for this, then let me know as there’s a little place in Henley with a stove which works really well.

Ryan HellyerMemberchristos@callsouth.net.nz is what Stephen told me to use for his dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi address. It bounces back at me when I use it now though.
christos@ihug.co.nz was what Joyce emailed him with on the last set of committee minutes.
Ryan HellyerMemberEr, well it is already. I just haven’t added Kyle and Chris’s because I’m not sure if they intended those to be public or not. They posted them when the topic was here in the Hockey Admin board, not when it was in the General Chatter board.
Should I move your posts Kyle and Chris?
