Nice to see some good thought going into these issues.

One thing I’d be wary of is the number of women who attend, or could potentially attend, the womens and beginners practises. A number of the women attend both practises and putting them on the same night could potentiallz result in a drop in numbers for both practises.

AFAIK the figure skaters have the ice from 6-9pm every morning. But there’s no reason hockey couldn’t use some of that time too, particularly since there’s two rinks. Figure skaters could move to the other rink for a couple of days per week to make way for hockey players perhaps?

I’d probably turn up on the odd occasion but probably not more than once per month. But I’m sure there’d be a few who would be crazy enough to turn up every day!

    Nice photo.
    Isn’t Zanzee 17 now though?
And did Brook really play for NZ in ice hockey? Or was that inline hockey?

So basically I just email dunedin ice hockey with the team list, and thats all good. Say there are players that are “mabyes” do I submit thier names anyway??[/quote:zw1ojed7]

I’d just email Joyce and say you’ll definitely have a team ready with their own uniforms (Aces or hopefully our own) by then and give her a preliminary team list. I think that’s all she needs at this stage.

Yeah, doesn’t make sense to me either. The original one made some sense, albeit it was full of typos, new one is a big fat mess.

There’s a meeting tonight so I’ll try to remember to mention it then.

can we make our own teams or will they be made by the DIHA to keep the competition relatively fair??[/quote:sl9jvtqe]

AFAIK it’s just like last year. So you should be able to enter in any old team you want. I know there’s a few Christchurch based teams looking at coming down too. Hopefully Gore will make another appearance too.

    Yeah, I think I did a couple of days ago. It’s all a haze. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

Well the ice blacks web site says ‘hey, we’re in dunedin, come down and watch’. but doesn’t give any times at all.

I emailed them from the ice blacks web site, but clearly not the best at responding to that thing. Ah well, we might go tomorrow evening and see what we can see. Alex is very excited, he talks about the ice blacks every week.

Kyle, have you been deleting more spam? I fiddled with the code on Wednesday to try and screw up the spam bots so need to know when they turn up. I noticed you inadvertently posted as “dunedinicehockey” so am assuming that was coz you were deleting posts using that username.

Basically, now if a spam bot tries to add a website to their profile when they register they’ll be presented with a blank screen and their registration wont be processed.

I assumed this type of thing would have been advertised, but I guess not.

No one seems to know when the Ice Blacks game is, not even the ice rink, and I haven’t managed to phone when the coach/manager is actually available.

    However they’re at the rink Saturday and Sunday 9:30 – 11, and Saturday night, 8 – 9.

I would guess the game will be the Sunday morning session, but there could be some good viewing of the country’s top players and some coaching as well at any of the times.

Another bonus is that if he tries to outrun the cops he’ll end up in a ton more shit than he’s already in. I saw this happen when I tailed two girls who had stolen a bag of lollies from Countdown for a few kms early last year. They couldn’t have been done for anything because they threw the lollies over their shoulder before leaving the premises, but then they did a runner when the cops turned up and got done for evasion of police or whatever the heck outrunning the police is called.
