Oh yeah, I was drinking at the Ra bar tonight and stumbled across a random guy from Calgary called Brad. It turns out he has some experience in goal and is now our goalie for tomorrow <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

I’ll try to remember to bring my camera for the finals tomorrow, so if you’re in them I’ll at least get some video footage of it for the website. I’ll leave the still pics for now though! Mine definitely pale in comparison to Joe’s efforts

I fixed Olivers account (or atleast I think I did) so that it would work now, and I gave him access to this forum. I emailed him a few days back to let him know I’d done it. It is of course possible that I didn’t fix it as I have no way of checking that it works. So I’ve now given his new username access as well.

The under 13 year old business is fixed now too. Anyone regardless of their age can now use the forum. That was an annoying addition to the forum software due to American law which states that web forums can’t be accessible to under 13 year olds without parental consent – or at least certain types of forums – I’m not sure of the details of the law. At any rate, none of that applies here so I’ve hacked the software to remove all that crap from it.’

    Those rules don’t apply Kyle.
    This isn’t an in-house competition.

Seriously though, Gore could have done with some more players. They’re double-shifting and covering two teams to keep the draw working for all our benefit, and probably paying a crapload of money each to play this weekend – that’s four games on a day, and with all respect, some of those guys aren’t 20 anymore.[/quote:2xjcs0lf]

If they’re short on players and we’re allowed to play, then why didn’t they ask us to play for them? I’d be quite happy to fill in as long as it wasn’t when I was playing against them.

We’re the Beasts, and as such want to play as the Beasts, not the Beasts minus a bunch of players coz some other teams are too disorganized to field a proper team.

We thought we were playing 20 min periods originally. And the team has been arranging themselves for months. They don’t want to change their roster just coz some other teams are too disorganised, which is fair enough in my books.

But yeah, I wouldn’t mind way less players! Three lines is a bit much, even for 20 min periods.

Impressive use of a fish eye lens. I’ve never seen much use for them and definitely not for shooting hockey pics, but you’re using it to good effect there. Keep up the good work <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

Yogi Bears is the team Dwayne Bell is organising. Dwayne is banned from playing hockey in Canterbury so I’m sure he’s mega motivated to do well during one of the few games he’s going to get to play for the next 12 months or so. They should be a farely strong team, mainly made up of players from the Christchurch full-contact league

The Canterbury Phantoms will possibly be a weaker team, that’s all I’ve heard about them so far.

Well we (Beasts) have a goalie for the first two games, but none for the next two! Hopefully we’ll be allowed to borrow one or we may be up shit creek without a goalie.

We do have three full lines at this stage, so we’re definitely not short on regular players! Doesn’t like we’ll be dropping any though so we’ll have to do some mega short stints!

Can that, I tracked down the original copy at [url:6nqhxll2]http://planb.smugmug.com/gallery/2665112/1/141070389#141070389-O-LB[/url:6nqhxll2]

I’d be inclined to sacrifice some shutter speed for a lower ISO rating. Those pics are a little too grainy as they are now. At least for the action shot of me anyway (ISO 1000!), the static shots aren’t too shabby though <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

I particularly like the one of Jamie you posted above and this one:

Thanks for the pics <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” /> I was getting sick of posting butt awful ones from my buget compact camera. The galleries section of this site was very popular whenever I uploaded new ones, despite how low quality they were. We were getting hoards of people (well, that means about 40 or so) who trolled through a hundred odd pics in one sitting. I’m sure some decent pics for once will definitely be appreciated by our users, so once you’ve posted enough I’ll copy them over to the main gallery if it’s okay by you <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

    cheers,

    Excellent photos Joe, keep them coming <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />
    That guy in red looks particularly stylish <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt=":P” title=”Tongue” />

I was going to suggest you uploaded them directly to this site, but something has screwed up recently (presumably to do with changing hosts) and I can’t seem to allow users to upload anything larger than about 30 kB now <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt=":(” title=”Sad” />

I’d particularly like a high resolution version of the pic of me you posted, feel free to email it to webadmin@dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi, thanks.

What sort of lens are you using for those pics?

    cheers,
    Ryan

According to Joyce the Aardwolfs have officially pulled out of the Easton Cup, but a bunch of their players may be coming down anyway. I’m guessing they’re planning to use their Aardwolfs uniforms hence the team name, but it’s definitely not an official Aardwolfs trip.

Post your shoe/skate size and we may be able to help. There’s some spare roller hockey skates lying round that I know of which may suit.
