Yep no worries, the main reason i posted about this is because i heard some players saying how unfair our team was, and would rather fix this for the future. I think our 14-1 or whatever game scared some people, and it did look a tad one sided. However with our huge 6 player bench at the moment, we are probably one of the weaker teams to be honest.

Although I agree with your idea of balancing the teams kyle, i dont think we should get into changing the teams too much on the night. To keep this league competitive we need to establish “teams”, that play together, as when you start mixing teams on the night, it does turn the league into social hockey, rather than one bunch of players battling all season to make the finals, with a goal at the end of it.

Even though the idea of balancing would make for better hockey, ultimately it is up to the teams to get their players there, and so with players not showing up on occasions, it probably balances out quite nicely. Im too lazy to get all our players there, thats kind of why our team has dropped in numbers, but my idea is that i shouldnt chase players, if they really want to play they will come.

Haha im really just stirring shit, Crosbys good its just funny how everyone jumps to his defence! But look at this how he bounces off Ovechkin when he skates right at him! Ovechkin clearly the better man on this one.

    Canadians…

Crosby is good, i think he is an awesome player with a ton of skill, but just feel he lacks something. The NHL is selling him as their new Gretzky, as with the drop in tv ratings they have apparently experienced (according to the hockey news) in the last few years, they need a star that people will want to watch. Hes basically being sold as the face of the NHL now.

Ryan, you say it was a one-off season, Afinogneov scored some ridiculously big goals for the Sabres last season, i think he will continue to do so. But guess we will have to see how the Senators series goes!! I would like a Canadian team to win the cup for sure, but would probably rather Buffalo over any other team at this stage.

The reason for my kinky russian fetish is they ARE more fun to watch. They hype the game up, and the fact is im not an NHL Coach behind the bench, and will probably never be (i might coach Ryans beloved Canucks u never know), so i guess this is my reasoning for liking the faster, more skilled game they play. They seem to have that explosiveness that many other players in the NHL lack.

But ultimately, until Crosby scores a goal as big as Mighty Max’s in game 5 vs. NY, im gna have to stick with the Russian phenom.

    Peace and Godbless Afinogenov,

Easy boys, Crosby is good, Maxim is great.

Ovechkin and Afinogenov both kick crosbys ass for real.
Maxim is a big part of the reason the Sabres moved on against the Rangers, however Crosby couldnt step up for the poor penguins, so they are now golfing! I know on paper Siddy looks hot, but there are tons of players far more skilled than him. Hes probably the most effective player in the NHL, but I must say he lacks the flare of a lot of other players.

Just my opinion Tom, ur sticking with your boy Crosby, thats good, im just testing your faith!

Peace and Godbless Afinogenov and the Sabres, and mabye Crosby too.

What are we going to do with you??

The slug team uniforms may not look the best, but youl be watching the mighty Sabres in the next round while your beloved Canucks get out the golf clubs!!

    Afinogenov = God

Easy on the refs boys and girls!!

Refs do a great job here, mabye in the game players get a bit fired up over a call, in the heat of the moment thats fair enough; but lets not worry about bad calls the day after boys!! Reffing is bloody tough, and it takes a long time to get good at it, so let keep the critisism constructive!!

    Peace and godbless refs,

Their midget team is ridiculously good i guess. I was talking to qtowns president, he said that in the SIHL theres basically no challenge at a midget level for their team, so he plays as many as possible at a junior level to push them.

ooo not happy, im no longer a moderator!! Haha na i have no idea what a moderator is, and how to add/delete posts, so i dunno why i was awarded that amazing role in the first place!! Well i guess it was fun while it lasted!  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gif" alt="8)” title=”Cool” />

    Peace and godbless the Sabres!!

    Hey ladies,

Just an update for everyone, especially ‘pretty boy’ Wick, God and master of the tinted visor!

Buffalo Sabres went through to the next round today, with a win over the Rangers. Game 5 of the series in my opinion the best game of the NHL playoffs so far, showing why Buffalo are the best team in the league!!! Lets go Sabres!!!

Check out the action from game 5: a must watch!! Afinogenov (again) making Crosby look like a child!!! Wow.

Awesome games yesterday, everyone was so happy with how our pee wees played, some really good goals, and some great teamwork, theyr really starting to play well!!  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif" alt=";D” title=”Grin” />  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif" alt=";D” title=”Grin” />

Not to take away from the juniors victory, it was an awesome game from a spectators point of view, fierce hitting, and great action, however the team the juniors played was made up mostly of midgets from qtown, not their junior team. There was about 5 juniors in the lineup however, who played a lot of game.

As far as i know the act of icing the puck when there is not long left in a game is a common tactic, and besides, at this level of hockey, is it really important?

Haha no, but my point is that when Ovechkin was put with other great players he did better than Crosby did. But i realise it is only early days, and that only time will tell which player is truly going to be better.

I actually think Crosby is better overall as a team player and that, but Ovy is far more skilled in the technical aspects of the game, ie. stickhandling, skating etc. Just watch Ovechkin and his technique looks less “forced” than Crosbys, although Crosby is also an amazing skater, Ovechkin just has that jump and explosiveness and a much smoother style. U really like Crosby tho my friend!!

I think we should start a new poll: “whos the more beautiful man out of the 2 pretty boys of the DIHA, Ryan “princess” Wick, or Aaron “prettiest man in hockey” Bryant. Anyone have any ideas?
Personally id go with Aaron, but Ryan has that rugged NHL enforcer look with his new playoff beard, so itd be a tough call. Haha, just for the record im kidding… or am I?

Tom, I emailed NHL.com and they said to wait till they got shipments of Penguins jerseys to order, it makes more sense.
    U still want one ey?

Haha yea me and Tom might have to drop the gloves sometime on the ice, im not much of a fighter, and i think Toms a pretty tough dude, so dunno how il go. And yes kyle i am a bit of an inline pansy, but im starting to throw hits, even if they are from behind resulting in a penalty!! Its a start i guess!!

Think im the first person to write on the new forum, awesome, in history this will be talked about, and songs will be sung about the man who first wrote on the legendary dunedin ice hockey websites new forum! sweet.

Ok, anyway, after some discussion with Ryan “pretty boy” Wick during a busy day at sk8, we both decided Crosby is a more effective player, but Ovechkin is far more “skilled”. Thats a fair call, as Russians are generally more technically skilled, sorry canadians! I could name a handful of players far more technically skilled than Crosby (for example Ilya Kovalchuk!!!), but Crosby is the most effective player, i guess looking at his 120 point season at the age of 19, he could be called the best player in the game, but im not going to lower myself to say that!!

Besides, just remember when Crosby and Ovy played on the same line for most of the All-Star Game in Dallas, who got a goal and who didnt?? Il let u guys check that one. Actually no, think il spoil it: it was OVECHKIN. What happened Sidney?

Wow, Crosby doesnt have sweet hands like this!!
I think Crosby is a better team player, but Ovechkin is far more skilled. End of story!!
