Thanks to Kyle, u have organised the DIHL now for quite some time, and uv really done a great job, thank you so much, we wouldnt be able to play in this awesome league if it wasnt for your dedication! Im sure someone will step up and organise it…anyone?
Anyway, it was a well fought final, with good intensity, was bloody hard to see any net tho with big Tobies in goal!
Congrats to the Johnies team who were without Steve Jackson and Bode Bode tonight, really played a great game despite losing 2 key players! To our guys, great job and congrats! I had a lot of fun playing this round hope everyone enjoyed it! Like i say, i promise we will have more players next time! Im just a lazy manager i guess, sorry to Joe for making you carry the jersey bag, hope u can find it in your heart to forgive me ? Especially when you get the game winner <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif" alt="” title=”Wink” />
Peace and Godbless DIHL A-League and Kyles organisation,
STIFFrookie19MemberWell Senators Fans, the Ducks take a commanding 3-1 series lead, and i hate to say it, but i cant see them winning 4 now, especially going back to anaheim for game 5 and possibly 7.
Senators just dont match up, even with the absence of Pronger at the blueline for the Quackers.
All is not lost, but Emery is going to have to play out of his skin to pull the Sens through and even then Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson better start putting the puck in the net!
Teemu Selanne might finally get a cup…
rookie19MemberO Kyle… not happy with the reverse of pick, its a big call haha! Ur not allowed to reverse “Kyles Predictions” anyway, its in the 2007 rulebook.
Should be a good game, Phantoms are gonna flick the switch this game!! As long as we can beat big Toby in goal!
rookie19MemberYes Vince, there are certainly some thoughts going round Dunedin about Stampede management and some people are jumping to conclusions. A lot of the opinions people have expressed to me in Dunedin are based on the fact that us Dunedin boys got very little ice time or none at all in the first games for Stampede. Sure, it would have be nice to skate in front of the home crowd, but if we have not yet earnt our position, then I dont feel we should be out there. It makes sense at this level to play your top players, and some of us are still struggling with things as basic as D-zone coverage. This lack of experience at this level can hurt your team greatly. Mabye we should have gone on at the end of the first game though for experience, but its not our call to make. Its just a let-down to the guys coming to see us play when we dont get out there, when they make signs and chant out names of Dunedin players, but i guess one day we will earn our spot and get to play a few more shifts.
At the moment it is awesome just training with the Stampede guys, as they are the elite players in nz with many being Ice Blacks, so we are gaining great experience from the sessions. Practices with all the team are vital. So for a team playing what would be called “elite” hockey in New Zealand, it should be expected that players attend all trainings and that this takes priority.
However, this weekend us Dunedin boys choosing not to practice in the second training i believe was a fair call. Everyone was quite sure we would beat the queenstown team with who we had already, for the premier round, however it is about more than that to us, as we had already committed to our Dunedin team, presuming the practices were going to be based around this premier round. So we made the best effort we could to attend the trainings, travelling to queenstown for the morning training then back to gore for the 2 games which we had already committed to.
The distance for travel makes it extremely hard, with many of us studying and working, the Stampede practices do not just involve a quick jump in your car, 5 minute trip to the rink for training, it is really a whole weekend for us which is an effort to say the least. The other thing is that the queenstown boys train another 2 times per week together, which makes it hard to keep up with the systems we play for Stampede. It is hard for us to move up the ranks with this kind of disadvantage, but i guess we just have to prove ourselves in trainings before we will get our shot.
Anyway, I do agree with Vince on the fact that there is a lot more to it than appears. But naturally being in Dunedin (or Chch) makes it hard to keep up and play for a team based mainly in Queenstown. I know if Jackie and Steve were not so kind and generous, theres no way i could afford to drive to queenstown for trainings.
Playing for the team is amazing though, we will keep working and doing our best to earn as much ice time as we can.
Peace all,
STIFF #19rookie19MemberGood luck getting replacement steel in nz for them!

rookie19MemberAzzy, i say we let go of our fears and eat the 11:00pm KFC [b:3n4al730]we so rightfully earn each and every practice[/b:3n4al730].
[b:3n4al730]Too long have we sat in the far corner seats of KFC[/b:3n4al730], in fear that She may see us, and we would face [b:3n4al730]unknown consequences for our actions[/b:3n4al730]. We have been denied the beautiful view that the front KFC window offers, the sparkling lights of Woolworths, the unmatched grace and finess of the fuel pump workers of BP; all because we are in fear of appearing as common men… [b:3n4al730]And we all know that common men go no where[/b:3n4al730].
Azzy is completely right, each time you face a controversial situation remember the letters: [b:3n4al730]”WWBD”[/b:3n4al730]
[b:3n4al730]”What Would Bode Do”[/b:3n4al730]
rookie19MemberBro… have u gota house yet?
Vince, can u tell me what song that was that they played in the changing room before the game with the goal horn in it? It was awesome.
rookie19MemberWicked! good bunch of guys in the team this year. They arent the best team on paper, but its good to hear they have some chemistry! Some of the younger players like James T-B, Lewis Taiapa and Timmy Whipps have some good jump.
Id be keen to know who got NZs goals, where did you get the info Kyle I dont see any of the stats on the international website?
