And Thursday’s story is: Aardwolfs haven’t been able to pull their team back together. They’ve pulled out.

So now we’re down to 7 teams, which is a shitter of a number. Joyce is reconfiguring the draw, but trying to keep it as much the same as possible.

I think she’s going to go with a 4 team pool, and a 3 team pool. The 3 team pool will play each other, but they’ll also play one extra ‘friendly’ game for no points against one of the teams in the other pool. Just so they get a reasonable number of games.

And there will be one less game on the Sunday, so we’ll start later.

No doubt it’ll be coming out tonight, but with the games starting tomorrow lunch time, team managers should be onto it in case your first game changes.

It looks like the goalie has said “fuck it, these guys are no good”, leaned his stick against the side of the net, and decided to play sans wood.

The DIHL photos are great Joe. One of the things I’d like to push (Ryan and Michael really) towards is when the new stats system is up and running, use that to create player pages – which would have their stats, but also a brief bio and a photo. Having photos like the ones you’ve taken here would be great. Even if you’re not happy with the lighting, clearly you’ve got good equipment and know what you’re doing to get good shots.

That photo of Jaimee (the Bears goalie) is really nice. If I remember I’ll point out to Larry that it’s here, he might want to talk to you about getting a nice copy.

I know it’s lack of lighting that’s stopping me looking as good as an NHL player. They were going to call me up, but when they came to scout me, said that I wouldn’t look good enough in their promo photos.

Man I was ripped.

They’re not very good skates, but they’re inline skates so they’re better than the junk you’d get at kmart etc.

A grade goalies:

I’m starting to think about the push for getting A grade players to sign up for the dihl, which starts in 3 weeks.

I’m just thinking about goalies who can play A grade. Toby, Nick, Aaron, Tony. That’s only four so that’s cutting it real close – they’d all have to sign up to play for us to get to our four teams. We’ve lost Antony and Mark Dudley from last year.

Anyone else know of any goalies lurking around that we could hit up to play?

There’s about 20 sets of skates there. In fact, apart from the fact that the sticks there are crappy, we can equip someone better than the ice rink, but we have much smaller amounts of gear.

That’s strange. Joyce was talking to them on Sunday and they lost a couple of people but pulled it back together. Some guy up there apparently got all three chch teams sorted.

Have you passed this onto Joyce? She needs to know that ASAP, and to confirm it.

I’ll presume to speak for Ryan and say “no age limit”. People should be able to play hockey and have a pair of inline skates. You’d be fine to turn up Tom.

Does anyone have any decent inline pucks? Like there’s a bunch of nasty ones there I think (it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been into the gear), but it’d be nice to have a few nice ones if anyone had them.
