[/quote:180axuml]Heh. So many responses, so little time.
I hope they look just as good in green!
KyleMemberAnd they had James, so that was hardly fair (or at least, that’s why my son said).
Pete Lamb was getting under some ice blacks skin in the first period with some good forechecking I noticed as well.
I didn’t actually pay as much attention to the IBs, but I’m going to presume a couple of them had good games <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif" alt="” title=”Wink” />
KyleMemberYeah, I didn’t bother trying you. Or Blake, James, etc.
KyleMemberThanks Michael and Mark for stepping up. Hope you enjoyed the game. I think I tried just about everyone else on the list. Hope people are more forthcoming for the rest of the year!
KyleMemberUmm, whoops.
I’m not sure why ‘show unread posts’ didn’t show me your post, so I thought you’d flaked on me. Sorry Nick.
KyleMemberNot too bad a game. Dunedin were holding out well and disrupting the ice blacks in the first period, but early in the second it opened up with four goals. And again in the third with a bunch more. 10-0 the final score. Shame Dunedin couldn’t get a goal, they struggled to get too set up in the IB zone and didn’t seem to get lots of shots on.
Cheers to Michael and Mark for wearing stripe-y tops.
KyleMemberThe ice blacks game puck drops at 7.
It’d be a help if you could be available to volunteer to ref the midgets house league game at 6. I haven’t seen the midgets yet this year, so it might require two referees. If you can’t make it to that don’t worry too much though.
KyleMemberNick,
I’m going, and can pick you up and drop you back, as long as you don’t mind two large energetic dogs climbing on you and licking you.
They’re er… very friendly.
KyleMemberYes, we are indeed looking for two linesmen, who should get paid. Michael is one, who’s going to be the other?
We’re also looking for two goal judges, who will get in free. Volunteers?
KyleMemberI’m probably not playing, unless a fair chunk of the games are on Friday. I’m unavailable Saturday until 3pm, Sunday until 1pm because I have my daughter.
When the draw comes out I might reconsider, but keep me as an unlikely until then.
KyleMemberHow’s it going Kara?
I’m feeling like I should need to begin to organise referees for next week.
I’m more concerned that I still have no idea how to sign up for the DIHL, and it starts next week. I can’t organise referees until they’re organised into teams.
Is there anything I can do to help?
I have the mailing list from Autumn 2007, which might have all the A Graders that didn’t sign up for Spring 2007. I’ll attach it to this post. I’ll also attach the last grading I did – April last year – most of the players on this list are A graders.
Oh FFS Ryan. Why can’t we upload .xls files? I’ll email them to you Kara.

[/quote:2oqsvybp]Vince, Aaron and I were at a meeting last night about high schools hockey. We suggested that where there are high schools teams who have a teacher who doesn’t know anything about ice hockey, we might be able to set them up with senior players who can help with coaching. They have some practices at the beginning of their season, and then a dozen or so games – starts beginning of term two.
So even if Larry can’t find a slot for you in one of the DIHA teams, there’s probably other teams that we could hook you up with.
KyleMemberThursday nights will be split from next week. Non-checking players (women, Beasts, people who have moved up from beginners, other SNC players) at 7pm. Checking players (juniors, senior checking players) at 8pm.
KyleMemberYou need a stove element to phone adaption thinger. Steam is _so_ 19C.
KyleMemberMichael apparently got lost on the way to phoning Graham, and fell over his stove.
