KyleMember
Aren’t you on the local committee or something Aaron?
Raggin’ on your own adopted sport?
KyleMemberI know you love all that admin-y stuff. I’d hate to deny you the opportunity.
Joe and I are just here to look big and tough and stand in the background, since you’re a little on the scrawny side of things.
KyleMemberThat matches the 2004 ruleset that you posted.
I don’t think anyone should expect the rules as set out to change. Erewhon Cup is.. 70 years old this year? It would take substantial effort to change it, and certainly the hosts aren’t going to do that 16 days out from the event.
It’ll technically be centre ice contact, and then in the finals, full contact.
And in reality, I suspect there’ll be almost no contact.
Who’s organising the Old Bastards Graham? I haven’t heard a thing, but if the price is right I’d be keen to play again.
KyleMemberYeah, typically people take it between high school and university or something. They go overseas and work for a summer in ski fields or summer camps or whatnot.
KyleMemberWe really need the stadium to go to a system where you can look up bookings online. This happens too often, it’s not good enough.
KyleMemberFor an advert about Auckland ice hockey, all the photos are of stampede vs devils.
And they’re all Joe’s photos too. Did they ask you to use those Joe?
KyleMemberMight be that you’ve already voted. If one of the results is in bold, then that’s what it thinks is your existing vote.
KyleMemberYeah, but I kinda thought it might be a good opportunity to referee a checking game with players who all pretty much know how to play checking. Could help us figure out those boundaries.
I also presume that they wouldn’t mind a couple of bad calls, as they’ll be wanting to test powerplay and shorthanded etc.
And it’s only a mockup game, they need refs to drop the puck and call the offsides and icing and allow them to focus on their lines and playing together.
I’ll put us both down as doing it, and tell Phil and Jenel we’ve got it covered.
KyleMemberAlso, while we’re expressing our annoyance, no pie for Kings HS who left all their tops for the mysterious top washing fairy, which seems to be me again.
But pie for Graham Phipps-Black who was nice enough to take the Stars tops away for washing so that I wasn’t lumped with two sets of smelly tops.
KyleMemberWell a good call it was.
I’m not sure if complain is the right word. We were happy for the Auckland player to stay in the box, just our team started debating whether he should be let out, and we were unsure, so for some reason James decided to go chat to you guys about it.
KyleMemberThere was a debate on our bench tonight, about when both teams get coincidental minors, and play 4 on 4, and one team scores, does the other team get the player out of the box.
I thought the answer was they do, but as it turns out, they don’t. Both players stay in the box.
It’s only when a team is playing shorthanded that they get the player out. Rule 502b.
KyleMemberI was just looking through old emails.
David Willan would be keen to help organise the next DIHL Jane.
KyleMemberYeah I’m disappointed to hear that. It’s not the job of any players to tell other players when they can’t play, when they are on the roster.
People might well say that Harrison and Zane have already played Auckland. There were a couple of people who ended up playing both ‘A’ games, so if it’s good for some people, then it should be good for all.
As far as I was concerned, if Zane and Harrison were happy to give up their slot for someone who hadn’t played Auckland already, then that was up to them. Apart from that, there’s no reason they should have been told not to play.
KyleMemberI’m not sure if anyone was informed of this last week, but there’ll be no Sunday social hockey tonight, due to the Auckland games being on. I would presume however that it’ll be on again next week.
KyleMemberHave no idea why you guys picked up Sam, but that worked out OK.
I’m not exactly sure who ended up on the ice for the jets, but Toby seemed to be playing out and Jacques played in goal. And I know that Blake jumped on, and he wasn’t due to play until tomorrow.
I’d be keen to know how that second game turned out in terms of score, and how fair it was. I had to leave so couldn’t watch it.
