It’s the week of nationals, but I don’t see that being a problem. Powerskating isn’t affected by nationals which run Friday to Sunday, nor the high schools competition, which finishes in the early evening I heard.

We should provide our own competent scorers however. It’s not a time that we should expect any of our normal scorers to turn up. Referees will probably be OK.

That story about the Erewhon Cup is silly. It’s not difficult to get trophies off teams after they’ve had the photo taken. Why Chch players who weren’t born 30 years ago should be excluded from the competition because of that… If Chch teams were invited there could be 12 teams there. You could run a couple of grades and everything – checking and non-checking or A and B. Even split the competition between two rinks and come together for the finals.

So, I’ve booked in a private ice session for 10pm-12:30am Monday August 20. There will be a game between the Beasts and the Aarwolfs B-team and a game between another Dunedin team and the Aardwolfs A-team.

Someone’s going to get in trouble. You should sort that out with Phil – all ice time bookings have to have the approval of the association.

And, doesn’t that mean you’ll have to pay the full rate?

It is a bizarre time for their migration. Shame they couldn’t come to Tekapo, they could play almost all the same teams for a lot less at Erewhon.

I’m not organising the A team, it can be someone else’s turn this time, but I’ll play in it if there’s a spot.

Well that last bit is easy. None.

I haven’t fallen over when wearing the stripes for ages actually. When I’m playing however… falling over is a sign of commitment. Ask Darcy.

oh that’s hardly exciting at all. You’ll put in $5 and get $10 back if you win.

How about a pool where you have to pick winner (team 1 or 2), and then tie breakers of 1. number of games it takes to get to four (ie, 6), and 2. score of the final game. Closest winner takes all.

Players can’t put in of course if you make it that complicated.

They’re breasts Ryan, I’m not sure gloss hides them. Binding perhaps…

I added a superior option to your poll by the way.

Short rosters for 60 minutes of stop time contact – I was expecting 3 forward lines.

Good to see Damien Watson playing – I haven’t seen him in the prems so far this year.

I’m going to have to go for team 1. That split goalie name throws it up in the air a bit, but assuming Toby plays a fair bit, I think they might have it over team 2.

Ryan, your rules the should note that females are allowed to play contact, the DIHA rulebook doesn’t allow that at present does it?

Ooh, good effort by Chris. That’s Wolverine Joe.

I wouldn’t want to be in Bode’s shoes right now, because they’d be way too small for me.

Bummer. Bad on our part. Andre’s looking for another goalie, hopefully we can find one. Old Bastards are looking pretty good otherwise.

I think the answer is, any team that doesn’t want to play checking, will be fine in the pool play. You might run into problems in the semi finals.

You beasts should see if you can still sign up. Three Dunedin teams would be good – shows the growth in our sport here and puts our case for a NZIHL team forward to the rest of the region.

I heard that over the weekend, and then last night I heard that wasn’t happening. From Mark Hareb, so I don’t know where he got it from.

I think having your linesmen do it is the general principle. But… if you want to do the rough stuff, up to you!

I can, but not from within the forum. Only from within the main web pages can I get the full list of forums. Once I’m in the forum, I only get the ones that are open to everyone.

Yeah, I think that got one of the biggest cheers of the game. I just about fell over in surprise.
