That’s strange. Stefan entered a whole team of A graders. What happened to Johnnies OB?

That is very true. She did tell me once that she tried it back in the sixties on the Manorburn dam with my dad.

In public? on a dam?? Wouldn’t that have been pretty cold?

It was the sixties. Probably whacked out on something.

    Yeah, I agree.

It’s a bummer that the A grade isn’t together enough for everyone to sign up, but the B grade shouldn’t change just because they are. A graders need to sort their shit out enough to fill in forms and pay some money.

There’s nothing wrong with an open grade like you’ve suggested, it should just be planned to start with, rather than when the split grade falls over.

I can’t do Wednesdays (or thursdays) I’m afraid.

    But have fun without me.

Bummer about A grade. How many have actually signed up?

There’ll be some proper game footage available shortly. But in the mean time, here’s a nice shot of Megan taking one for her team <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt=":P” title=”Tongue” />

Unfortunately, that is more Megan taking one for Auckland.

I spoke to the owner yesterday.

It is indeed true, he closed it in over the summer, and it won’t be melted this summer.

I’m at home all week and Tony O’Keefe’s email is at work.

Can someone post it here for me?

    Thanks…

As I understand it, no one realised there was a scheduling clash until Thursday when Ryan and I noticed.

    Hence, beginners is now moved.

We have a good team this year and just finnished a 3 day camp working on our systems and also were privileged to have Jeff Bonazo (ice blacks coach) for 3 ice sessions and 2 classroom sessions.

Yeah, damn straight that’s a good team. Auckland midgets beat up on Canterbury earlier in the day, and you finished up 2-2 with them. Keep it up guys.

I didn’t see the last game – Southern Juniors vs Auckland Juniors, but here’s a brief rundown of day 1:

Canterbury vs Auckland Peewees – Canterbury racked this up 11-1 it finished up. Auckland were by no means that bad, Canterbury just had a good defence and a good goalie and good goalscoring. Check out canty #s 7 and 11 – they got a bunch of goals. Good game – I got to ref it, and only called two penalties.

Canterbury vs Auckland Midgets – Canterbury were OK, but Auckland midgets were really impressive. There’s a guy on there playing 4th line for Botany Swarm National League team, which isn’t bad at 15! Showed it on the ice too, cutting right through the middle of the Canterbury defense. Some of the Auckland guys hit really hard too, two Canterbury guys got injured from legal, hard hits. I think Auckland ended up 6-2 or something.

Canterbury vs Auckland Juniors – This was a really good game. It finished up 2-2, fast, exciting. I thought Canterbury were going to get it – they had at least one Red Devil out there – Heyd (he murdered a 3/4 open shot at net, and got shut down on a big breakaway), but it finished up tied.

Southern vs Canterbury Peewees – first up for the Southern, the peewees. Heaps of Dunedin kids in the team. They were 2-0 up at the end of the first, and playing well, but they let Canterbury back in it and didn’t go to the net for rebounds, and spent too much time watching the puck instead of chasing it. 6-4 to Canterbury it finished up, but the guys played a good game, and should go well against Auckland tomorrow.

Southern vs Auckland Midgets – This was another good game. 2-2 near the end, and Auckland had a big shot on the net and hit the posts! Plenty of feeling, can’t remember the details.

Southern vs Auckland Juniors – was 5 minutes in when I had to leave, Southern were 1 down, but looking OK.

that’s crazy. I’m surprised Neil agreed to that. I think I’d still win my bet, because beginners ‘moved’. That’s exactly what I said would happen <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

    Anyway, all good.
