I don’t know any more than you, or indeed less.

But my impression from Aaron’s text, was that some practices are finished, and might be merged together informally.

It might be that juniors, intermediates have been merged into something new, involving some drills and maybe a scrimmage.

You might want to edit the last post in that. The bums to the wall, but also this:

“This type of event is normally in support of alternative sexualities, it doesn’t necessarily mean that all competitors are gay, bi, transgender or any other weird ass sexual preference some people have.”

I presume you don’t mean it to read that ‘gay, bit, transgender’ are in the set of ‘weird ass sexual preferences’.

See, now look what we’ve done.

It’s not ‘politically correct bullshit’ Chris. It’s simply ‘correct’. The implication of the statement ‘bums to the wall’ is that gay males go around raping straight guys in some high incidence. Which isn’t true at all. The most likely victim of a rape by a gay male, is another gay male, normally someone they know, exactly the same as heterosexual rape.

If homophobic is how you like your humour Chris, up to you. But this really isn’t the place for it. Keep it in a changing room that I’m not in.

I would guess it would be primary ‘gay and lesbian’, but would actually be ‘queer friendly’. There’s quite a few of these sporting events around the world. Provide a safe environment for queer sports people, without completely shutting out other people, as long as they’re not assholes <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

I would suspect that’s actually a safer environment for some people. Out, in the closest, and not, can all come together and not be labelled as being gay/lesbian.

And the parties would be brilliant. Tekapo wouldn’t know what hit it.

    Sounds like an excellent idea.

But if it was to be held at Tekapo, shouldn’t the Tekapo people organise it?

    [b:1qeaf5jr]Bullfrogs vs Sharks[/b:1qeaf5jr]
This will be the Bullfrogs toughest competition so far. The Bullfrogs had a strong performance last week, beating Kings, but the Sharks are looking mighty strong. My pick, 1-5 to the Sharks. Phipps-Black and Laing to score for the Bullfrogs and Elkin, Kliegl, Johnston and Regan Wilson to share the honors for the Sharks.
    [/quote:1qeaf5jr]

Maths would make it likely, if two people score for the Bullfrogs, then they should end up with more than one goal.

    Ya science geek.

Dunedin midgets lost the second game in a real close one, 5-4. Got the 4th goal with less than a minute to go, but unable to get shots on in the last 20 seconds or so with the goalie pulled. Unfortunately gave up too many breakaways early in the game, leaving their goalie wide open. Good clean game.

    Ryan,

You booked two. One I was at, was a general game just after Jenel arrived. Then you booked another one a month or so later, I presume you collected money for that as well.

Kyle, can you book us in? Plus I think I still need to pay for the previous session we had there.

Not until you pay for the last couple of bookings. I got a reminder notice about it today. I’ll hunt out the bill and you can pay them direct.

Sorry Kyle, was trying to set Alex or Xavier up with a goal, woulda been cool if Xavier put that shot away, but both the young dudes played awesome! Good on them. We won at the end of the day!
And what an assist by Alex, pass right on the tape to Dad who threads the needle!!
    [/quote:3baq6tr6]

Yeah, they both played good. Xavier had a couple of good shots from high in the slot, but couldn’t quite get it through.

The pass was sweet, past a couple of other players, right to me, gave me heaps of time. I didn’t so much thread the needle as take a second to make sure I was putting it on net and then bang it off. Aiming is over-rated!

    My pick, 1-3 to Kings.

An upset! 5-4 to the Bullfrogs! Unfortunately the game was marred by an immature fight and a game misconduct or two were dealt out. Behave kiddies!
    [/quote:x3gjjcxq]

Ooh. What happened? Who were the crims? Is someone gonna get banned? What’s the goss? Do we have footage of the immaturity in action?

Final score was 3-2 to the Randoms. This game wont be recorded in the history of the DIHL record books as it doesn’t count.
    [/quote:tcje8f8t]

As long as it is recorded somewhere! Alex was so stocked with getting an assist that we had to go around to the scorebox to make sure it was there. He didn’t have a number, so there it was in the assist column, ‘AM’. Right below ‘7’ off ‘7’.

Anywhos, Jets will now get a thumping from an A-grade stacked lineup. Dudley to get pounded in goal. Either that or the A-graders wont be allowed to play – but I don’t think that’s the case (awaiting confirmation). My pick, 8-2, Sedgwick to pick up a few goals for the Jets coz the replacement teams goalie will probably suck. King and Wick to sink most of the replacements goals in the net.
    [/quote:24ygjjo3]

Big game from the randoms. Stefan spends the entire game only passing to people shorter than him, which was a bit ripped for me. Luckily my son gave me a lovely pass in front and I put away for the game winner. What a combination! 3-2 to the randomly dressed guys.
