I might organise a ‘random team’ by posting on here and maybe some beginners.

If I do, I’ll post again.

    Actually Kyle

I have organized a for a specialist orange boy, imported from Florida
He grew up on a little orange farm, in Orlando, and he has been cutting oranges before he could walk.
He spent 3 years in AAA College hockey handing out Oranges, unfortunately he didn’t have the mental stamina to step up to a Pro level.

He Has agreed to come over here, unfortunately he takes up an import spot, but I feel the benefits of having our team properly refreshed at each period break, far outweigh a goal scorer.

P.S. I can’t seem to get my tongue out of my cheek

Betcha I can take him. He’s from florida after all. Probably some pansy Cuban pretty boy with nipple rings and a coke habit. I’ll beat him down to waterboy during the first practice.

PS: I’ll bring some pliers tonight and we’ll sort that tongue still in cheek problem out for ya.

    Sweet. That’s good news.

Not being within a mile of the ability level required, I’ll hold the oranges.

The club is applying for funding for… I forget how many, but a ridiculous number of pucks. 500 or something. If that’s successful, I’m sure putting a bucket in the gallery will be part of the idea.

Check the rules on that Ryan. Semi-finals and finals go to extra time followed by penalty shootout.

You can put Wayne Gretzky out on the ice if you want, but it’ll be a default. You’re a long way outside the grade range for B grade Stefan.

It just says “Dolkar and her friends in school have to create all that is needed for hockey from scratch, everything from hockey skates and sticks to the very ice they skate on.”

If you want more than that, you’ll have to go see the movie.

So people, If you have nothing better to do and you to want to go down on the anals of DIHL, B grade history, look like a complete wally and shoot like a wowser for 6-9 months try changing sides.

I obviously wouldn’t say this about you Graham, but someone said to me, and I feel the need to repeat it to alert you to the fact that such things are being said. Anyway, the person suggested that you always looked like a wally on the ice, and the changing of sides was coincidental.

There ya have it. Amazing what some people will say about fellow players. I felt hurt for you man.

I don’t particularly care. My message was to Stefan, and I think he got it. If Chris wants to post like that, up to him.

Personally I think the whole topic potentially isn’t helpful, but I don’t think it’s a big thing.

    I’m going to restate:

This is not a discussion that you guys should be having. If the team gets confirmed, then Bode, and probably others, are going to be trying to bring players from overseas, and probably from elsewhere in NZ to play for this team. It won’t be the Dunedin prems moving up, it’ll be a new team, and there’s going to be a bunch of players wanting to be in it some from out of the region. Some of the Dunedin players will make it, a bunch won’t.

The last thing anyone wants, when selling this exciting new team, is for the player to come check out the web site and find a discussion about how they’re not wanted and how local players should get preference, and how they’ll have to be way better than a local to get into the team. Why would some really good player come from Canada to play with the team, when their first impression is that they’re not really wanted?

This team is a step up for everyone guys. Among everything else, it takes a step up in professionalism. You don’t see the All Blacks making comments on each other and who should be selected and who shouldn’t be selected. It’s not needed here either. It’s just going to look amateur.

And as Ryan said, there is no team yet. These are things to be worried about if it happens, not before it happens.

Because the Southern Ice Hockey League isn’t part of Dunedin Ice Hockey.

And it’s confusing if you come looking for the southern ice hockey league, and at the top it says Dunedin ice hockey.

    Looks good to me.

Except, the southern ice hockey league page, with Dunedin Ice Hockey graphic at the top I find a little weird. Could do with its own branding at some stage.
