I think we need to go the animation effect. Maybe four frames.
1. Stefan stepping onto the ice looking like a pro.
2. Stefan’s legs going out from under him.
3. Stefan falling on his butt and looking like an amateur who wore his skate guards onto the ice.
4. Stefan recovering and going for his sexy pose.Got that whole historical accuracy thing going for it. Apart from the flowers.
Desktops are a good idea. They’re free promotion, easy to distribute, and they can look great.
Know you’re just at the early stages, but some action shots would be good. My desktop at work has this image, from Mission. Be nice to see images of Toby in full stretch across the net with the glove in action, Stefan doing his thing down the ice and whatnot!

Just go to the cif site, make an account, post something about yourself, push the thanks button a few times.
Got me one within about 12 hours.
I personally won’t farm out my account login as the uploads and downloads are pretty closely tracked, and I have my account logged in most of the time.
I presume since it’s not on the list, Bebo isn’t an option? I’ve never used it, but it seems to be fairly popular.

It’s always felt out of place to me.
The news on the left is whole stories. I’d use a tidbit which is much much shorter.
The login on the right needs some explanation. You could interpret that as you need to login to the main website. lump it in with the forum stuff and put it on a different background or in a box. I know you haven’t gotten onto design stuff yet…
I’d put ‘upcoming events’ as higher priority. and practice schedule I’d move off the front page, and just make it a link.
Everything from ‘latest member’ down i’d remove. And the latest forum posts…. can we take out the board names, and the people posting, since it doesn’t use real names but internet handles. and change the date format to 08/11/07, 11:05pm so it uses less text. And if it was today, say today instead.

I went to the training they had here this year with my kids and chatted to the manager for a while. He didn’t seem to mind us being there. I complained that they should advertise their internal game… or indeed respond to the email that I sent them asking when it was!

Was talking to James last night. They’ve got five training weekends, for which they have to cough up a bunch of money to get the north island guys down. Three are apparently here in Dunedin, and they’ll have intra-squad games, so we should advertise that, I’d definitely come down to watch the ice blacks play an internal game.
Then come March, assuming they make the final team, they’re away for three weeks – two weeks of training in China and another week in Australia at the World Champs.
It’s a big commitment so if nothing else, give them all the support you can. And y’know, don’t injure them seriously!
Only if she arranges a bus to deal to one of the existing goalies!
But she should book in for next week?

[/quote:25g7mh0q]The fact that you’re refereeing is something to be taken up with the person who appointed you to the game, changing the team that’s playing wouldn’t alter the fact that you’ve been asked to referee it.
