Cool, I wish I had time for more.  I’m usually on the ice or coaching when I’m at the rink.  I’ll redouble my efforts in the coming weeks…

And look, they have Jacques out on the PK.  How would you like to go into the corners against that beast of a man?

That was a classic quote.. and a classic NHL moment.  Roy is one of a kind.  Players rarely interview like that.  Brett Hull was another player with great quotes.

I was trying to figure out where that Hungarian guy was from.  He’s pretty good and so far he is the best player I’ve seen in the league.  I thought he dominated the first game.

As the quality of hockey improves in the league the quality of the imports will too and so the media will always have the foreigner angle to write about.

There is a boat load of awesome players out there that could be recruited to Dunedin in tandem with attending college.  I think having quality imports raises the bar for the locals.  Stiffy and Christos need better players so that they can improve. Right now they aren’t forced to improve because they are playing with me.    <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif" alt=";D” title=”Grin” />

Dunedin Storm or Southern Storm sounds about right at this time.  My house is shaking and whistling. And I’ll have to disagree about the lack of thunder locally.  It’s booming pretty load up here at Otago Penninsula.

Aaron, do Speights not brew any beer locally?  I swear I can smell the hops on occasion.

    Green Man is very tasty.

For web viewing it would be a waste to post it at 9 (ish) MB.  I can format pics for the web at much lower res I was just checking if they could go higher than the 70 kbs of the photos already up.

The original file of Jamie was probably 4 or 5 mb and a little photoshop work can really jack it up. That’s the sort of res you use for printing (if you can).  I tried to see if I could upload anything to the gallery and I couldn’t readily see any way that I could.

I’m thinking the Ducks will win.  Wait the Ducks DID just win.

    track top jackets
    hockey team jackets
    coach jackets
    supporter jackets
ass warmers (those padded deals for sitting on the cold bleachers)

    training gear
    club hats

training team jerseys like the NHL teams use to divide into work groups

    That will keep Beth busy.

That’s a good name Paul.  I like it too. Didn’t Sir Edmund launch his South Pole explorations from Dunedin?

    Lots of logo potential too.

Another good one to think about.

This is going to be like naming a baby. We learned after out first to never tell anyone the names you are going to use because almost certainly someone will object to virtually any name you choose. Why would you even watch slapshot2 anyway?  Stephen Baldwin and Gary Busey should have been your first hint.

I can do it if you want.  Can the pics be higher res than that?

Canadians get an earful over the seal hunt.  Being called the sealers would get old fast.  If you like the seal imagery you could always just use the seal name.

    Dunedin Seals?
    Southern Seals?
    Otago Golden Seals?

Here’s some late 60’s logos from the California Golden Seals:
