Absolutely. I think advertising is a great idea. Additionally, targeted advertising could also be quite beneficial for dunedin ice hockey as a whole. After all there’s nothing wrong with attention being drawn unobtrusively to relevant products and services.

Kyle is right, the advertising should first be used to pay for the site itself.

I’m going with Ryan “Princess” Wick. That tinted visor just sends shivers down my spine, y’know?

Ok, I’ve watched just about every Youtube clip I can find of Crosby and Ovechkin, and I have to say that Crosby comes out ahead. Ovechkin has some damn pretty goals though, so I guess it’s a close call.

Yep, I’d thought of that. If you think we’ll be too tired, then we won’t do it tomorrow night.

Does monday before practice suit everyone?

I don’t want to go into the whole thing here on the forum, because it will get messy, but I will make some very important points:

Firstly: Societies are legal persons [b:1lht72e9]and can own property[/b:1lht72e9]. The significance of this will be explained at the meeting

Secondly: Not-for-profit Societies are eligible for a wide range of benefits, including, but not limited to, [b:1lht72e9]tax benefits[/b:1lht72e9], which, by my rough calculations, will [b:1lht72e9]save us [i:1lht72e9]significant[/i:1lht72e9] amounts of money[/b:1lht72e9].

Thirdly: The administrative and filing requirements of Societies need to be taken care of by a member of our team who [b:1lht72e9]volunteers[/b:1lht72e9] to do so, and has [b:1lht72e9]experience with the law and with accountancy practices[/b:1lht72e9]. That would be [u:1lht72e9]me[/u:1lht72e9].

For the moment, allow me to put it this way: I fucking hate paperwork. I wouldn’t have put myself through all this shit if I didn’t think that there were [b:1lht72e9]real, practical and valuable benefits[/b:1lht72e9] to be obtained by incorporation.

So, it’s really really important that we have a meeting soon guys, and that everyone attends. Once the initial administrative matters are taken care of, the organizational burden on the team as a whole will be minimal.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Looks good!

A couple of minor points about the way the BBCode works are in my SMF post “Testy McTest”

If you hook me up with a copy, I’m happy to make another couple.

If everyone does that, we’ll end up with a fair few copies.

Jack, wanna do a hockey vid night at yours with your mega huge TV?

It was Mark’s idea of a joke.

His sense of humour is not very developed.

    Or funny.

I would know. I’m the most humorous person in the universe.

As you know Ryan, I’ve had a wee play with SMF, and I have to say that I like it very much.

I find the general moderator thing useful, and the software seems to work very well.

    Bring on the SMF!

Spam is probably only going to get worse, because I’m noticing a LOT of crawling by googlebot and livebot recently. Looks like the website in general is seeing quite a bit of traffic, hence the interest from spammers.

So, it seems that the silver lining of popularity has a dark cloud of spam :?

I stand corrected. I was mainly referring to certain members of your team, who you were clearly annoyed at also.

That hook on Steffy looked pretty nasty though!

[i:3tlyyjqv]Edited by Ryan: you had no “….”‘s around the username in the quote[/i:3tlyyjqv]
