Fair call. I dislike outright censorship, but I take your point.

    Ryan,

I notice you’ve added schedule links to the calendar. Primo.

Why does everybody seem to assume that this is “ref bashing”?

Is discussion no longer appropriate in a discussion forum?

If not, then I have been most seriously misinformed

[quote:3psqlqzb]…if you’re going to take a penalty just cause you like to argue with the ref then the whole team gets to play shorthanded for the next 2 minutes.[/quote:3psqlqzb]

I was going to the penalty box anyway.

So next time, you talk to the ref.

Yep, but deletion isn’t the appropriate response.

Splitting the topic and reposting in a separate thread with an appropriate topic title would have been the way to go.

    Ryan, see my PM

    I don’t get it.

Not surprising really. I’m still trying to figure out why the heck my insitu Schiff base experiment creates a radical when using a methylene linker but when using an ethylene linker it just gives me a crappy light brown solution!? Any explanations would be welcome <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt=":)” title=”Smiley” />

    Ryan,

It gives you that crappy light brown solution because I replaced your chemicals with prisoners’ stool samples.

Hang on a sec Kyle, there’s slagging people off and then there’s giving your legitimate opinion.

Bear in mind that the DIHA performs a public function, and you’re required to uphold freedom of expression.

Stuff like, “fuck chris is a cocksucking faggot, he sux diq” is totally inappropriate. Expressing a legitimate opinion is the purpose and function of a forum.

    Oooh. Slapped down by Jason.

The day I get “Slapped down” by Jason is the day we hold the Easton Cup in Hell.

Jason doesn’t like to cause trouble and confrontation. I do. I have a statutory right to free speech, and I choose to exercise it.

mmm, yes, that’s very true, I do border on interference a lot and I know that I also come pretty close to boarding people a lot. Of this, I am very much aware.

However, that particular instance was just very very obviously Tess trying to detach my forearm from the rest of my body.

Yes, I disagreed with the ref. It’s not like I physically attacked him or anything, or even swore. Let’s not get toooo damn precious about it, hmm?

    Agreed. Here’s an example:

Chris: “Kyle, you are an annoyingly tall man. And when I say tall, I mean really fucking tall. You can reach the puck in places that you shouldn’t be able to. Screw you for being so tall.”

Kyle: “Thanks for coming to me about that Chris, I will try to be less tall in the future, as I know that it annoys people when I can have one leg on each of the blue lines, and am in fact taller than God. I also have a complaint about you, Chris. My complaint is that you are too awesome. Your awesomeness really gets me down, and makes me feel hollow inside.”

Chris: “I understand Kyle. Many people feel this way.”

Actually, scratch that, I [i:13jg77mk]can[/i:13jg77mk] move/split topics now, just needed to log out and back in again.

    I still can’t see IPs.

Might be an idea to assign people as global mods, but set us to forum-specific as well, so our names show up and people know who’s doing the editing etc.

Having Kyle as a global mod is a good idea.

Tess had my arm in a lock like she was trying to give me a cuddle, for god’s sake! I would happily have gotten out of her way if she’d let me go.

EDIT: Not that I mind Tess trying to molest me, but on the ice? Honestly! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif" alt=";)” title=”Wink” />

    Yes, that was.

Primarily because that was the worst call I’ve ever seen by any ref in any game in the history of the universe. Even Tess thought she was being called, and was really surprised when we saw that the ref was calling me, not her.

that sort of shit REALLY ANNOYS ME.

In other news, no, I wasn’t calling out to trip you. I think that was jane calling out “Hit Kyle!” Hit him now! Hard!”, which was a fair call, ’cause you [i:3tcg12k7]were[/i:3tcg12k7] skating rings around us, LOL

    Agreed.

    Good decision Ryan.

THIS is precisely why admins need to be on top of discussions like this.

    Again, good job.
