ChrisMemberI see where tim’s coming from though, ’cause a “right-handed stick” would normally refer to the stick that right-handed people play with, which in canada is the other way aound to here. So what they label as a ‘right handed stick’ could be what we could call a left-handed stick.
However, ryan has played hockey in canada, so we’ll trust him <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif" alt="” title=”Cheesy” />
ChrisMemberUmm, it gets updated when I get around to uploading the latest figures <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt="” title=”Tongue” />
The “Aardwolves” game on there is for our trip to Christchurch, not the game for their southern migration.
I haven’t added that one yet, since I only just realised that we’re playing them when they come down <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif" alt="” title=”Cheesy” />
The aardwolves games we’re playing in christchurch has a little “chch” beside it, and is a preliminary costing only (based on who said they’d be going) rather than an actual costing (based on who actually goes) because I don’t have enough plutonium to generate the 1.2 Jiggowatts needed to power the flux capacitor, sending me forward through time to see who actually goes on the trip.
And you just wait sunshine, I’m going to charge you for having long hair! Muahahahaha!
ChrisMemberCount me in!
ChrisMemberRyan, I’ve embarked upon a design for that website. It’s just in the preliminary stages, but I thought I’d give your critiquing muscles a workout.
Bear in mind this is the early stages of the project, and I’m learning as I go
EDIT: Link removed – Cheers Ryan <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt="” title=”Tongue” />
ChrisMemberAhh, the wonders of wordpress <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif" alt="” title=”Smiley” />
Ryan, you should stick a login form on the page somewhere once you’ve set up the smf bridge.
ChrisMemberI think we should post a new poll asking the hockey community’s opinion on precisely which drugs have inspired Joe and Stefan’s great literary feats.
Weed?
LSD?
Performance Enhancing Steroids?
KFC?!ChrisMember"Kyle":2lgfe2um wrote:Also some of the news items are heading towards news features. Better to go with tidbits that link to proper pages, than ram everything on the front page I think.
[/quote:2lgfe2um]I’d imagine that’s how the posts will be added once the site is fully powered by wordpress. WP makes that very easy to do indeed.
ChrisMemberNice, it looks pretty good. Unfortunately, no columns, but I can see how it would be quite complicated to get them.
Did you edit index.php, or did you set the “home” page to the “latest news” category, then use a category-specific template?
ChrisMemberMeh, I had one user, “Admin”, and one post “This is a test post – testy testy Mctesty” in my DB, so no biggie <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif" alt="” title=”Cheesy” />
ChrisMemberIntegrate the user databases [b:2kc5oewl]at your peril[/b:2kc5oewl]
Seriously, it totally destroyed wordpress and the forum. I would strongly recommend backing up [b:2kc5oewl]everything[/b:2kc5oewl], including all your template and admin files and the MySQL database, before trying it.
ChrisMemberCome to think of it, I’d probable just stick a link beside the header for the News bit
have you tried this[/url:1n5327yl]?
ChrisMemberThanks bro.
I’ve been reading up on customization in the wordpress codex, and its actually all quite straightforward. I think the best option for me would be to take a pre-existing template and alter the elements bit by bit, rather than forging out on my own into a sea of PHP, XHTML and CSS madness.
I pinched some of your plugins too <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif" alt="” title=”Cheesy” />
The nextgen gallery works really well.
Just supposing I was thinking about doing up that website you emailed me about the other day, what do you think of having a hard-coded main menu in the header linking to all the important parent pages, with an automatically generated list of all the pages on a sidebar? Is that too goofy?
I also thought that sticking a login form, RSS feeds and a randomly selected photo in boxes along the bottom (footer) would be groovy, ’cause the standard two-column blog-style layout doesn’t really ring my bell.
ChrisMemberAlso, you haven’t by any chance tried out Gallery2[/url:30rkdjiw] have you?
I’ve been trying to install it using the pre-installer, but I keep getting errors. Apparently there’s a good plugin for wordpress[/url:30rkdjiw].
Also, how would you go about having one user database for both wordpress comments and PHPBB3/SMF?
