Um, while its good, all the beasts want to play two back to back games, shouldn’t we at least offer some ice time to people not already playing…

The only place I have seen this talk of playing Auckland in here, do the Premiers know about it?

I mean if you need players sure double up, but I think it would be good to offer it to others as well

Besides  I think Dunedin has an unbeaten record versus visiting NZ teams in this rink,

Well I sorta meant instead of them JUST doing their routine, during our intermission, why not dress them in a way that relates to the team then they can do their Routine.
I will volunteer to wear the leotard and support them, and the I hope the leotard will support me, see what i did there…

Plus we should get Bill Acklin to write us a song,

    Dunedin Thunder thats our Vice
    Dunedin Thunder winning is nice
Dunedin Thunder welcome to the house of Ice

    oh yeah thats hot

(this part is serious)Well as I said before, the Syncro team is there, They don;t normally wear alot anyways on the ice, see figure skating routines….
(this part is semi serious)And I guess I could talk to my contacts in Dunedin Casino Cheer Squad. They probably want paid though,
(this part take it how you will)other wise I guess I could hit the pubs and bring along whoever follows me home, mind you you probably have to whittle that down, as I guess you have all gathered by now I am an exceedingly pretty man ….hahahah

    It was just a thought??

Whats with the quite up down scores??

I mean presumably if they were evenly matched we would get scores like 3-2, 1-2 etc…

I mean 10-5 to 6-2 are quite big swings..

9-1 to 4-3 is still quite a big swing even though the second game scoreline ended a lot closer??

Actually Moen put the puck around the boards Emery went out and left it for Phillips who as he was trying to move put it onto Emerys skate as Emery was moving back into his net, and Emery Kicked it in.

Moen not complaing though I think he tied for highest scorer in Playoffs

Um they are called the Dunedin Penguins

What the hell if this is not about moving into the NZIHL, what is the point, we are Dunedin, all we need to do is get tops….

Why would the club need to be BRANDED if all we going to do is stuff round playing premier, which gore sends a team but with all due respect ain’t exactly the most challenging opponents in the world…and after queenstown drew with us, they send half-baked teams to the competition….

People who want to come ice hockey will come whether its the Dunedin Ice Hockey team
or the Super Cool Ultra Awesome Soutern Skynets playing…..

Presumably the whole point of being branded was to market us, which we can only do when we get some decent product to sell, sure we have the odd touring team, but unless we playing consistent good rivals then why bother…..

In my humble opinion, we should consult nzihf or whoever run it, say we are interested in, joining superleague, we are currently rebranding our club, we are thinking of this name and these colours, WHEN we get our team will this fit into your model.

Rather than spend money rebranding now, then 2 or 3 years down the track have NZIHF say heres a team but there is no way you can use those colours or that name.

Brewers….isn’t limited to Speights, who incidentally sponsor the Stampede…and which is brewed in Auckland anyway…

    We have Green Man Beer
            Emmersons
McDuffs (previously duffs before a pending lawsuit from the simpsons, despite it being around longer..)
and probably some more I haven’t thought of which are all actually BREWED in Dunedin

Hockey Club Dunedin, and on the front we could have Dunedin Coat of arms.

The Shield: The castle derives from the Arms of Edinburgh, from which Dunedin takes its name.

The green stripe across the middle of the shield signifies the agricultural background of Otago, with its wool and mutton – represented by the golden horned ram’s head – and cereal crops – shown by the golden sheaves.

The jagged form of this stripe is indicative of Otago’s mountain ranges, in particular the three hills that lie behind the city – Mounts Flagstaff, Swampy and Cargill.

The ship, flying the flag of Scotland, celebrates the arrival of the first Scottish immigrant ships, the John Wickliffe and Phillip Laing, to the Otago Harbour, whose bays and high surrounding hills are depicted by the deeply indented lower border of the stripe.

The Crown: The mural crown is the emblem of local government and administration.

Supporters: A Scotsman, in honour of the pioneers of the settlement, wearing the Cameron tartan, a compliment accorded by the Council to Sir Donald Cameron, who was Mayor at the time of the grant of Arms.

Also shown is a Maori chief, from whom the land was purchased, symbolical of New Zealand.

Or maybe some variation on the flag of Dunedin

    [img:3lhyq3qj]http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa233/Azzyb_2007/feat_coatag.jpg[/img:3lhyq3qj]

The Dunedin City Council flag bears on a white background the emblems contained within the Dunedin City Coat of Arms – that is, the castle, sheaves and ram’s head on the green stripe, and the ship.

    Thoughts?

Actually I am going to retract most of my previous statement….
Most people have known that the club has been rebranding for at least a month now….
Sure we could have got it out there quicker, but we didn’t, I think there is a fine line between careful consideration, and a DIHA committee meeting (HA jokes guys), what I mean is, I don’t think and I could be wrong, but I don’t think, there will ever be a name that everyone likes, so we should just go with the one most people like.

heres a few comments I have I heard in the past few months

“I like the penguins we should stay with that, for history…”
“We I think of penguins I think of cartoons lets not go with that…”

    “I like DIHC its classy…”
“I think DiHC sounds kinda like man bits lets stay away from that…”

“I like miners, belongs that is what this city was built on…”
“It sounds a bit like the underage youth, [that attempt to drink in the Dunedin Ice Stadium Carpark despite the valient efforts of the brave young men of the Dunedin PRemier team]…”

    “I like Thunder…”
    “I don’t like Thunder…”

“I think that Mr. T could kick Chuck Norris’ Arse…”

And so on and so forth….
