Okay here’s the deal
Jackie rang me last night and told me midgets and juniors are finished.
We are going to all turn up on Thursday at 7 because thats when she booked.
They will collect money $10
At this practise/scrimmage/love-in we are going to discuss the options that are in the poll.We may have 10 people we may have 50000
But this week is to gauge interestAzzy77MemberUm… Why don’t you have to be a gay or a lesbian to play gay and lesbian hockey????
Surely that defeats the point…what makes it gay and lesbian hockey then?? isn’t just a bunch of people playing hockey, where a few happen to be gay, don’t we have that already, if the closeted people are already playing?
Because if the point is to make the closeted person feel comfortable, if they won’t come out now, how will they if there are non-gay and lesbians playing with them or reffing them?? Surely its the same environment, i guess you could argue that only gay-friendly people turn up…but you can’t completely close the rink of to others….
I don’t know where I am going with this, but surely a gay and lesbian hockey needs to be played by gay and lesbians
Azzy77MemberChris did give an example of exactly what to type in

[/quote:24xv0urh]Its handy wee trick, got many movies and songs via this method, don’t tell the fuzz though, Americans do seem to like to store their stuff in weird places, and its is uber-fast
Azzy77MemberI think one of the benefits of an open grade, is that generally the people who are going to encourage new people to come along are people really into the sport, that have a passion for it.
The problem with the split grade is those with a passion, probably also play a lot, so are probably in A-grade.
Here’s the issue, if I say to my mate, hey you want to come along play Hockey, he will say sure can I be in your team? I say no cos you have never played before, you play b-grade by yourself, he’s not going to come along.
(This has actually happened to me on more than one occasion)Azzy77Member"Ryan":2m3vkz2l wrote:[b:2m3vkz2l]Bears vs Kings[/b:2m3vkz2l]"Ryan":2m3vkz2l wrote:My pick, 4-2 to Kings.[/quote:2m3vkz2l]
Hellyer has a complete mozzer….
Final score 4-2 to Kings.[/quote:2m3vkz2l]
What did I say about letting Ryan pick his own games as losses…
He practically admitted to throwing itAzzy77Member"Kyle":tbdbtpvu wrote:[I wonder if a student ice hockey club would help, and we need visibility on campus. Take clubs and socs day. It’s great that Deanna does that, but there should be an ice hockey player there the whole time….
[/quote:tbdbtpvu]Ryan Wick, Stefan, Zanzee and me were present for the entire clubs and socs day, under the banner of Dunedin Ice sports….
We had a lot of interest, but not all the people backed it up….
I not sure but I think Deanna (Canadain one, not Phil’s wife) was found there, abliet Megan may have persuaded her further"Kyle":tbdbtpvu wrote:What we also don’t do, is bring ice hockey out of the rink.

Personally I found the old DiHL more enjoyable, no offense to those guys running it now, cos different strokes and all that….
But new A grade DiHL is a bit competitive for me, I enojyed the old laid-back, mixed up DiHL, were you didn’t have Dynasty teams, coming back year after year, like the Phantoms, which who are we kidding here makes a bit of a mockery of the grading system…..
Everyone got mixed into teams, that way you got to meet new people, you wouldn’t normally hang out with, well the players did, I was all alone in my little blue semi-circle….
and the teams were fairly evenly matched because they stuck to the grading system…The first couple of new DiHLs stuck to the grading and they were even, but once we started letting established teams in, the balance was shifted…
Then people turned up to the end of season social event cos, everyone, well most people were over 18, and it was held at various places, instead of curlers backroom, one year it was at Carisbrook (I kid you not)
And another time, we played NHL 2002, all night….I have no point

try this, there are heaps of posts on this site about painting helmet…
Azzy77MemberIs it legal for Ryan to be picking himself in a losing team, surely that raises a whole host of moral issues, will he throw the game in the end?
Who should I put my money on? what are the odds?Azzy77MemberArn’t RFID tags becoming cheaper, we just need to get the club to put them on all tops, no worries……
Then we would not only be able to keep stats on whose on ice when goals scored, but also which club members have tops they “borrowed” and where they are….
Maybe we could get interesting stats on what the “borrowers do for fun”Heres something you techno geeks, may enjoy (I am a math geek, I use computers alot but solely for mathematical purposes)
The theme park[Alton Towers] received some press for its proposal to tag guests with RFID wristbands in order that they be tracked and filmed by cameras as they move around the park. Although it is intended to be optional and used for providing personalised video of a visitors day, the media reacted to the privacy implications and Big Brother scenario. – cited wikipedia, Searched it one day because it’s David Brents biggest dissapointment
Azzy77Memberfirstly I don’t play in this league so I don’t care…..
But it seems a little unfair to have guys like harrison and michael playing. Because lets be honest here b-grade d is up to jack all agains those guys so they can really skew results…
Maybe there is call for goal limit on guys rated above 5 or whatever system you are using… whether it be 5 goals, 3 goals, or not at all.
In High Schools when we have a player playing down a grade, they are not allowed to score full stop… and at the old rink they were not allowed past halfway, that way the other guys get the benefit of the top guys playng with them without the disadvantage of having the top guys playing with them
Just a thought
Azzy77MemberI am pretty sure we (hahah I say we as if I am assured of a spot, oops) the premiers would be allowed to play dihl…
Whether they do or not would remain to be seen, with lots of training needed….
Azzy77MemberI think Wick is just a moron and can’t use computers….
working fine here, on IE6
Azzy77MemberYeah unfortunately I don’t own one….
I don’t if Sk8 have any in stock at the moment….
I am not likely to purchase one for goalie cam either…
But if the club or Ryan was interested in getting one that permanently had the camera attached to it, then you can easily tie it on to any goalie helmet, making it more versatile then attaching it to a helmet. Cos no one not even goalies like sharing helmets.See photo if you are not sure what I am talking about
Or using Jaimees
Azzy77MemberI don’t wear one…
But what if you got a dangler, you know the big bit of plastic to protect the throat
and attached you camera to the reverse side of that???ie the part closet to the body???
Azzy77MemberJust a question, and I haven’t seen the rosters, so correct me if I am wrong…
You have one team with two goalies???
and another team needing a goalie??Isn’t there an easy solution to that problem?
