Why are the games so late on tuesday nights, if there are two games why don’t we play 7 and 8 instead of 8 and 9.

playing after nine gets the blood going to much so you can’t get to sleep to 1 o’clock and that sucks

I think you have your dates wrong, unless I am mistaken the trials for stampede aren’t even till may 5th, I think games are 25-26 May,

And besides surely they wouldn’t hold first round of nz premier ice hockey with ice blacks away

I wonder if channel nine will film them again, they did last time steve jackson did the commentary i think

This be way beyond the realms of what you guys can do, i have no idea bout anything computer related, but could you live stream the stampede red devils games?

just wondering I will probably go down and watch the games but I am sure if you did that nz ice hockey would sit up and take notice of your abilities, and I guess people from canterbury might enjoy it

Um a lot of stampede players were away due to ice black commitments, there were still a few among their ranks I believe some one will have to confirm that.

We were missing James, Darcy, and a few others, best turn out for a prem team in a while, and think first time beaten qtown in a few years but again someone needs to confirm that

Ryan he reckons you look like Ricky(Reeven) not Randy, although I think you could totally pull off the walking around with no shirt on all the time.

No contradiction, I don’t condone the fight as it happened after the game as we should have been leaping around celebrating our victory, not watching a fight.

I praise his restraint as while ryan was running his mouth the whole time, the guy from chch was pushing and shoving and physically trying to start fights the whole time, if ryan wasn’t on our team the guy would have went after someone else. Ryan could have fought him in the first game we played thats what the guy wanted, ryan could have fought him in the first second or third period of the last game thats what the guy wanted. Ryan kept walking away, the guy kept pushing and pushing his buttons until Ryan cracked, we all know how fiesty Ryan is, for him to last that long is to his credit.

Fighting has a place in hockey, like I said before to relieve tension brewed in a game, instead of ridiculous checks and sticks that while the referee can punish, can result in far worse injuries than handbags at five paces.

By that I don’t mean every game needs a fight, or its not a hockey game without a fight. In fact i perfer games without fights.
But and this is going to sound like contradiction but it is not in some games the niggle gets so elevated even the most vigilant referee can control it, and if two guys have a wee scuffle that is sometimes enough to reduce the niggle, and make the game safer and let the circus stars (thats you steffy) shine.

Firstly what were you doing up at 4.15 stefan?

Secondly while I don’t condone Ryans action as it took the gloss off our win, that goon from chch, was looking for fight and wasn’t going to stop until he got one.

Against Dunedin Juniors he tried to fight James, who just let him punch him in the head, for lack of energy, and fear of killing a man.

Against Phantoms in first round he tried on numerous occasions to get into fights with Ryan and Blake who to their credit let him mouth off and push them

I didn’t see the game but I believe similarly he tried stuff with Gore.

Then in the final he tried to pick fights with blake and Ryan through the entire game, who once again ignored him.

Then after the final whistle in the ultimate display of poor sportsmanship and cowardice, after his team had lost, he came out of the box and pushed Ryan from behind, who finally started to fight him.
I think we should be praising Ryan for his restraint, it took the guy three days to get Ryan to go.

I think fighting has a place in hockey, if tensions spill over in the game and aggression of hot head players can be released in a 30 second fight, instead of dangerous checks and swinging sticks throughout a game that is a good thing.

But if a person gets on the ice with the sole intent of fighting they are letting themselves, their team, their opponents and ultimately hockey down
And that is what is not needed in our fine game.

And at the end of the day I have completely forgotten what I was writing abo….DUNEDIN GLADIATORS RULE…. oh yeah I think we should enforce bans from rink to rink, Surely it is a futile exercise to ban this guy form a rink when he just going to travel and do the exact same thing at another rink.

This minor epistle got out of hand sorry for the length

“I don’t need your cherry trees.” Ricky (if you don;t get it go watch trailer park boys, or just say it really fast and think what it should be)

Haha that is ridiculously close to a Ken Dryden pose, Dryden sorta had the stick on the ice and leant on it, but the whole contemplative look is totally there.

for those of you not familiar with Dryden pose

If you weren;t joking and actually wanted to know who it was it is our friend Ricky “Get me some of those JA-LAP-A-NO potato chips will ya”[/img]

Hey joe, there are three phases of light above the hockey rink, normally they only turn on the first set, which is quite dark, when me or toby are playing we normally turn on the second set it helps us goaleis see the puck better, and i think shouldbe fine for photos, but there is even a third phase of lights that needs a key to be turned on, that were installed for the purpose of professional photography or filming on that rink, so just ask them to turn more phases of light on hope that helps

Lesson for the day, don’t try and abbreviate lessons for today otherwise you spread mistruths, powerplay goals don’t effect your +, but if on the other hand you are scored upon in a powerplay situation you get a – minus added, similarly if you are shorthanded and score you will get a plus.

    so in summary
    + shorthanded, even strength goals (this includes 3 0n 3 and 4 0n 4)
    – giving up shorthanded (ie being scored upon by a team a man or two down on you) or even strength goals

Lesson for today Power play goals don’t add to the +/-, so if megan scores five points, but two were in PP situations she would only get +3, thank you for your attention this has been another lesson for today brought to you by the letters I and H and the number 5
