I wasn’t suggesting that everyone gets equal ice-time

Just the Dunedin boys found out the same time about the practises as everyone else, and they had to travel to get to practise a lot further than a lot of the team, though not as much as you Vince.
And the fact they got no ice time, was not meant to be about it should be shared most of us understand that the coach has to win, and in order to do that he needs top play who he feels will get the job done for him, but rather could have be used as an excuse to yourself (this is merely my opinion, in no way represtative of any other peoples views) for not showing, “what will coach do bench me??”

The practises were scheduled late sure, but the SIHL rounds were scheduled two months ago, everyone knew when they were. So even if the players had short notice about Practise, they knew there was a Premier round this weekend.
Surely they would have wanted to play some hockey after last weekend, since they didn’t know about this practise, even if they thought they would walk away with the round (which recent results  in SIHL suggest wouldn’t be foregone) they could have used the games as opposed training sessions, to work on defensive patterns and breakouts etc.
Also why did they not schedule training for today or tommorow(given it is a long weekend) knowing full well that Premier round was on Saturday, and indications from Stampede Management earlier in the season that Stampede trainings would not effect SIHL, so Dunedin players had every right to go play Premier round

Lastly I would like to reiterate these are personal opinions based on what I know about the situation and not reflecting anyone elses ideas, if they come across as bashing I apologize, they are meant to be rational arguements, based upon information I have, if I am out of line please tell me and set the record straight…….

I realize there is pressure to win for the Stampede, and that it is a tough job being a coach, but I just feel that things could be handled a little better thats all.
    Peace out

My understanding is that only 5 qtown players turned up to the morning practise.

And all 3 Dunedin guys turned up, including Stiff and Ryan O’keefe who got no ice time last weekend.

    Wtf?

I hope you knew I was playing Premiers this weekend, as opposed to maliciously leaving me off goalie contacts

You know what happened last year, they were all ready to go, and some senior member from the nzihf from auckland emailed them and told them the quality of hockey in the South Island was up to scratch.

They were meant to play the stampede cos apparently they are quite good.

So that makes the comments even stranger given that the Stampede had won the NZIHL the previous year and well on their way to winning that year when the email was sent thats what I heard

Also the Ie Pirates reputably bring a celebrity hockey player every tour they go on I for one was hoping macgyver would make the trip…

We could just be real cheap and steal the Whalers name from Hartford and Nelson etc..

My Pakeha ancestors were Whalers at Taieri Mouth, who took a shine to the native women, hence my Maori ancestry….but thats a different story

I think its quite obvious to all that I would be a thunder clapper, I mean I am sooo pretty.

But I think you will find I was going to undress in the inline hockey forum…

Hockey Club Dunedin has the best colour scheme.

To me the Dragons colours get back to the whole too canterbury thing.

I like the name too,  as some else said its really classy.

Thunder would be my second choice, instead of calling the rink the shelter, it could be the Cloud.

And if we got sexy cheerleaders (they would have to be sexy), they could be the Thunder Clappers.
If they weren’t sexy we could just call them the thunder thighs

Guys come on, she has a jug cord for crying out loud, stop giving her clues to my identity!!

Unless she laughed, then maybe tell her who I am, maybe by amusing her, the beatings will stop.

Unless it was an evil laugh in which case keep the identity quiet

presumably if you skate 27 hours a day, and we go for 10 days, you will end up having to keep skating by yourself for 30 hours, to make up the lost time, i don’t if hans would close the rink for one person.

Also I think if you had fitness you could skate that long, if you were coming from little fitness it wouldn’t aide your fitness it would literal kill you, giving you zero fitness, so unless you had negative fitness before hand, it would hamper fitness

Joe, I thought I saw you trying to ake my head off while retreving a puck, you gotta let the fact I rob you all the time go man, beat one on one, not by taking my head off first, although I am under the suspision thats how New Zealanders are taught to shoot , Kill the goalie, before the team has time to replace him stuff it in the net.

What the hell else is a slapshot around my head meant to achieve…
